1,1,3,3,5,5-Hexamethyltrisiloxane is involved in the preparation of 2-bis(3-allyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane, which is associated with inorganic siloxane polymer and used as a coating material for the detection of toxic chemical warfare agents. It is also used as a silylating agent and to prepare 1,5-Bis[2-(1,2-epoxycyclohex-4-yl)ethyl]-1,1,3,3,5,5-hexamethyltrisiloxane from 4-vinyl-1-cyclohexene-1,2-epoxide by hydrosilylation.

1,1,3,3,5,5-Hexamethyltrisiloxan wird zur Herstellung von 2-Bis(3-allyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluorpropan eingesetzt, welches mit anorganischem Siloxan-Polymer assoziiert ist und als Beschichtungsmaterial zum Nachweis toxischer chemischer Kampfstoffe verwendet wird. Es wird auch als Silylierungsmittel verwendet und zur Herstellung von 1,5-Bis[2-(1,2-epoxycyclohex-4-yl)ethyl]-1,1,3,3,5,5-Hexamethyltrisiloxan aus 4-Vinyl-1-Cyclohexen-1,2-Epoxid durch Hydrosilylierung.
