It is also used as a starting material to the methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl, which has antiknock property. Further, it is used in the formation of an active Manganese(0) species useful for radical cyclization. It is also used in 31P-NMR to determine the size and lamellarity of phospholipidvesicles reactions.
