Beschreibung
Triethylsilane is used for the hydrosilation of olefins to prepare alkyl silanes. It acts as a reducing agent in the reduction of 2-chromanols, since it has an active hydride. It acts as a catalyst for redox initiated cationic polymerization, regioselective reductive coupling of enones and allenes, and Beckmann rearrangement of cyclododecanone oxime. It is associated with trifluoroacetic acid and involved in the selective reduction of alkenes.

AnwendungenTriethylsilan wird zur Hydrosilierung von Olefinen zur Herstellung von Alkylsilanen verwendet. Es wirkt als Reduktionsmittel bei der Reduktion von 2-Chromanolen, da es ein aktives Hydrid hat. Es dient als Katalysator für die redox-initiierte kationische Polymerisation, die regioselektive reduktive Kopplung von Enonen und Allenen und die Beckmann-Umlagerung von Cyclododecanonoximen. Es ist mit Trifluoressigsäure assoziiert und an der selektiven Reduktion von Alkenen beteiligt.
